The Wound Care Centers at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka and Plymouth, members of the Healogics network, are participating in the first Healogics National Wound Care Awareness Week from June 2 to June 6.

Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center offers advanced therapies to patients suffering from chronic wounds. Program directors across the nation have dedicated the week to visiting local physician offices to provide education to help staff identify patients that may benefit from advanced wound care.

Chronic wounds affect millions of people in the United States, fueled by an aging population and increasing rates of diseases and conditions such as diabetes, obesity and the late effects of radiation therapy. Untreated, chronic wounds can lead to diminished quality of life and possible amputation of the affected limb.

People with wounds that have not improved after four weeks of traditional treatment may benefit from a visit to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. To schedule an appointment, please call 574-335-6210 (Mishawaka) or 574-948-5260 (Plymouth).
