TaTa Trot Raises $ for Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship

TaTaTrot2014The 6th Annual TaTa Trot sponsored by Oliver Ford and Ounce of Prevention is always the last Saturday in June.
TaTaTrot2014_runnersAbout 100 runners and walkers participated in the 5K and 10K run walk this past Saturday. The annual event is a fundraiser for the TaTaTrot2014_tshirtsNancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship at Plymouth High School. Before her death, Jaynes was a much loved teacher at Plymouth High School and championed the cause to make people aware of the need to raise funds for breast cancer research. Jaynes was responsible for state approval of the breast cancer awareness license plate.
TaTaTrot2014_QueenEach year a TaTa Queen is selected to reign over the festivities that are held on the Oliver Ford Lincoln. This year Chris McCann was introduced and actually walked the route.
TaTaTrot2014_5KWinnersResults of the 5K run were to male, 13 year old Brady Hissong from Plymouth with a time of 22:28 and the top female was 14 year old Elena Kipp of Valparaiso with a time of 22:37.
TaTaTrot2014_sponsors10K top male was 28 year old Justin Kowalski from South Bend with a time of 42.54 while the fastest female in the 10K was 27 year old Liesl Muehlhauser from South Bend with a time of 42.54.
TaTaTrot2014MoreBound for OunceThe top 5K walking woman was 51 year old Beth Schmeltz of Walkerton with a time of 44:06 and the top man was 49 year old Lynn Morris of Plymouth with a time of 48:03.
