05/29/14  On Tuesday, May 27th at 12:40 A.M. Plymouth Officer Chris Miller responded to the Country Place Apartments in reference to a battery that had occurred. Officer Miller located 18 year old Dylan D Mata of Plymouth who was found to be intoxicated.   He was taken into custody.  A statement from the victim was taken and additional charges of domestic battery, strangulation, interfering with reporting a crime and minor consumption were added. Mata was lodged in the Marshall County Jail on a $3,005 bond.

Later Tuesday morning at 10:22 A.M. Officer Ray West responded to the Marshall County Probation Department in reference to 29 year old Jeffery S. Campbell of Argos being in possession of a device used to interfere with a drug test.  Mr. Campbell was taken into custody for obstruction of justice and possession of a device used to interfere with a drug test and transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $1,505 bond. He was released later on Tuesday after posting bond and given a July 15th court date to appear in Superior Court II.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed.  They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
