03/19/14 The Plymouth High School Speech team competed in the IHSFA State Speech Finals this past weekend and finished in 2nd place in class AA.  (AA schools are those with enrollment that places them in the medium to large-sized category.)  The team also placed 4th overall in the state regardless of size behind Munster (AA), Fishers (AAA), and Warren Central (AAA).

PHS senior, Travis Tredway won the State Championship in Drama and was named the winner of the James Hawker Mental Attitude Award, an award given to one senior in the state who advanced to the State Finals.  He also won the state championship in Drama and was named 1st Team All-State.

Four other Plymouth students advanced to the State Finals rounds and were named Second Team All-State.  April Bowen finished 4th in Drama and Original Performance.  Gracie Gilbertson finished 4th in Prose.  Junior Chase Holzwart finished 6th in Prose, and sophomore Elizabeth Polstra finished 6th in Poetry.
