02/11/14 Kurt Garner of Plymouth threw his hat into the ring and filed for the Republican, District 1, County Commissioner seat. Born in Bremen in 1968, and raised in North Township Kurt worked at his family’s business before heading off to college. Married to Christine Gerard Garner for 15 years; they have two children, Jack, 13, and Chloe, 11 and have lived in Plymouth from 1997 till 2009 when they purchased a farmstead and moved back to North Township. Kurt ventured out on his own and began a consulting business in 2008 that focuses on preservation, design, and research throughout northern Indiana. When asked why he wanted to be a County Commissioner Garner said, “I’ve enjoyed serving the residents of Marshall County through a number of different ways over the years. I feel that I have something to offer the county and pledge to work very hard for all of us if elected.”
