02/11/14  Members of the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety approved a contract with Sungard Public Sector for new software.  Police Chief Dave Bacon explained that the new software will match what it currently used in the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.  The software will allow the squad cars to be able to talk with the Sheriff’s Department cars and with the dispatch.  His officers will have computer-aided-dispatch and the record management system.  He said, “What the dispatch center has in the computer will be available to our officers in their cars and in the office.”

Chief Bacon said the Bremen Police Department is also going to purchase the software so all the departments in the county will be using the same system.

Cost for the contract is $27,120 for the components and $17,560 for services making the total amount $44,680.  There is also a $5,395 annual maintenance agreement.
