01/06/14 The Plymouth School Board will set the agenda for the 2014 at their first meeting on January 7 at the Administration Board Room on Berkley St. in Plymouth. The meeting will begin at 7:00 P.M. At that time, the Board will elect a president, vice-president and secretary as well as appoint the corporation treasurer.

Additional items include establishing individual bonds for the treasurer and business manager; establishing board member appointment as legislation liaison; appointment of board member to student services committee; and establishment legal council.

Nearer the end of the meeting, Board members will submit conflict of interest statements.

The Board will consider the superintendent’s contract as well. A public hearing concerning the contract was held at their last Board meeting in December. No one from the public appeared before the Board at that meeting either for or against the proposed contract.

They will also consider classified conditions and pay increases.

A snow make-up day of January 20 could be finalized if the Board is in agreement with the proposed date. The State of Indiana requires schools to hold classes 180 days and any days canceled due to weather or other conditions must be made-up, unless an appeal is awarded.

Immediately following the regular meeting, the Board of Finance will meet in order to elect a president.

Meetings are open to the public; however, comments from the audience are limited to agenda items.
