09/17/13 Marshall County Purdue Extension Office is offering an educational program for area corn and soybean growers on Wednesday, September 18th.   Cargill is sponsoring this educational program as part of their customer appreciation day and will provide lunch.  Meeting will be held at Shady Side Park in Bremen, Indiana, located just south of Railroad tracks on north Center Street.  Program will start at 9:00 am with registration for PARP and educational presentation will start at 9:30 am.

We have a key concern for area growers that will be discussed at the meeting being herbicide resistant Palmer Amaranth.   Some area growers may possibly need to make adjustments in their herbicide program to account for this weed.  This weed is present in Marshall County so be sure to scout fields.  Are your investments making a good return on your investment?  Hopefully information at this meeting will help answer this question. The goal of this program is to help area grain farmers learn about these topics and other timely information.  Please bring your crop production questions to the meeting.
