CONGRESSWOMAN WALORSKI ANNOUNCES 2013 CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION

March 15, 2013

03/18/13 Congresswoman Jackie Walorski (IN-02) recently announced that her office will be accepting artwork for the 2013 Congressional Art Competition.  This is a nationwide art competition open to all high school students sponsored by the United States House of Representatives.  Any legal high school resident of the Second District is eligible to submit artwork to the Mishawaka District Office, or drop-off locations in Rochester and Plymouth.

Artwork will be judged by a panel of art professionals from the Second District (60%) and votes tallied by Facebook “shares” on Congresswoman Walorski’s official page (40%).  The first place winner will have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol for an entire year and win a pair of roundtrip airline tickets to Washington D.C., with other special prizes for the second and third place finishers.

The Congressional Art Competition was established in 1982 to give members of Congress the opportunity to recognize and encourage artistic talent amongst their constituents.  For more information on eligibility, contest rules, and entry forms, please visit Congresswoman Walorski’s website at: https://walorski.house.gov/services/art-competition or contact Ryan Clem in the Mishawaka District office at (574) 204-2645.

Submission deadline is April 19th and artwork can be dropped off at the Mishawaka District Office for Congressman Jackie Walorski at 202 Lincolnway East in Mishawaka or in Mayor Sentor’s Office at 124 North Michigan Street or the Rochester Mayor’s office at 320 Main Street.
