02/18/13  Ryan Jessen, President of the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce said Friday,  “This year is the third year of the Board of Director’s three-year plan, in which membership is the clear focus.  We have spent the last two years focusing on the operations of the Chamber. We are now financially secure, growing membership at an outstanding rate and as operationally efficient as ever.  We are now truly in a position to focus all of our energy on helping our members grow their businesses.”

The internal structure of the Chamber is changing as a result. The current office manager, Betty Glaub-Gibbs has been appointed Director of Membership Development; with her main responsibility being membership retention and development.  This move is a clear example of the board’s commitment to the Chamber membership.  Gibbs will maintain her previous responsibilities and questions regarding the Chamber will continue to be fielded by her.

Jessen explained the second change.   A part-time employee will be added in 2013 to free up Betty to allow her more one-on-one time with the members with her main goal being a face-to-face visit with each Chamber member.

Ryan Jessen said, “It is our belief that a revitalized Chamber must be proactive, thus you will see the Chamber staff more than ever before. We want to put the Chamber to work for you, hitting the pavement and visiting members on a daily basis.”

Jessen said, “We strive to be a catalyst for the growth and prosperity of our members and community, promoting education excellence and coordinating action of community importance.”
