01/29/13 On Thursday, January 24th at 6:41 PM, Deputy Les McFarland with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two vehicle accident at Michigan Street just north of Washington Street. He was needed to cover the accident because it involved a Plymouth police vehicle.
Arriving on the scene, 52 year old Cindy L. Rhoads of Plymouth, the driver of a 2003 Ford told the officer she was traveling southbound on Michigan Street and signaled to turn right into a parking space in front of 1st Source Bank when she was hit from behind.
The driver of the 2011, Police Dodge Charger, 37 year old, Shanna Gilmer of Plymouth told the deputy she was traveling southbound on Michigan Street planning to turn right onto Washington Street when the 2003 Ford turned quickly into her portion of roadway without having a turn signal on and the two vehicles collided.
The police vehicle did not have on any emergency lights or sirens at the time of the accident.
