11/28/12 City attorney Sean Surrisi presented quotes to the Board of Public Works and Safety members during Monday night’s meeting.  Quotes were opened for lighting and heating and air conditioning improvements at the Plymouth Fire Department and Police Department. The projects are energy efficient improvements.    Peregrine Heating had the low quote for the HVAC project at the fire house with $34,232 and also for the Police Department at $39,726.  Live Oak Electric was the low quote for new energy efficient lighting fixtures in both buildings with a quote of $14,700.  The projects will be funded through the Common Cents Energy Fund.

In other business Police Chief Jim Cox asked for approval to begin the hiring process to replace Jordan Rans who recently decided to return back to the Sheriff’s Department.  Chief Cox said he would add this resignation to the current vacancy hiring process already underway.

The Board of Public Works and Safety approved the request of Salvador Baca from Saint Michael Catholic Church to allow a holy procession in honor of the Virgin Mary on December 12th from 4 to 5 p.m.  The procession will walk along Berkley Street to Polk Street and on to East Jefferson before heading north on Center Street to the church.
