11/16/12 The Triton School Board has a vacancy after the resignation of member Debbie Shively at the November meeting. A new member can be appointed by the Board if there is a majority affirmative vote.

Shively represented school patrons in the Etna Township district. Shelly Brown, Marshall County Voter Registration, said anyone being considered for the spot will have to reside in Etna Township as well. Shivley had served on the Board since January of 2005.

According to Triton School Superintendent, Donna Burroughs, Shivley accepted a teaching and volleyball coaching position in Mishawaka earlier this year. Burroughs said, “She felt that she did not have the time to devote to the Board.”

Gerilyn Anders, who has served on the Board with Shively for the past six years said, “She did a fine job. We will really miss her.”

Burroughs said that a new member is expected to be appointed at the December 10 meeting.
