11/15/12 Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) is pleased to introduce its newest cardiothoracic surgeon Truc Ly, MD to the greater Michiana community.

A board-certified general and cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Ly joins Saint Joseph Cardiothoracic Surgery from the Samaritan Heart & Vascular Institute in Corvallis, Oregon. He specializes in the surgical treatment of heart disease, including open heart surgery, bypass surgery, heart valve repair and replacement, surgeries for lung cancer and disorders of the chest area, as well as minimally invasive cardiothoracic and lung surgeries.

  Dr. Ly earned his medical degree from Saint George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, WI; completed his general surgery residency at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital, a University of Michigan affiliate in Ann Arbor, MI; and completed his cardiothoracic surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX.

In addition to his extensive residency training, Dr. Ly also completed a prestigious advanced cardiac surgery fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, with a focus on valvular heart disease.
