10/02/12 If you missed the History Walk at Oakhill Cemetery but like this type of event, you might be interested in this abbreviated version.

Mike and Shirley Bergman, as well as Mandy Metsker and Ren VanGilder if available, will reprise the roles they played at the Tri  Kappa history walk in Oakhill Cemetery.   They are the evening entertainment for the Marshall County Genealogical Society Annual Dinner.

Mike and Shirley are portraying Grove and Clarissa Pomeroy who were early pioneers to Marshall County.

Mandy Metsker tells the story of Maye and Louise Sear who married VanKeuren brothers.  Louise’s story is reminiscent of the musical Chicago.

Ren Van Gilder portrays a fictional cemetery sexton who “digs” his job.

The Marshall County Genealogical dinner will be held at Opie’s Deli across from the museum on Tuesday, October 16  at 6:00 p.m.  The actors will entertain first, the meal will follow. The meal is a pecan crusted chicken breast dinner, salad, mashed potatoes (and/or a rice dish), soft drinks, tax, and gratuity included.  The meal is $12.  Drop off a check payable to MCGS to either Karin Rettinger, Carole Sarber, or Judy McCollough at the museum.  Call 936-2306 if you have questions.
