09/10/12 Monday will be another long day for the Marshall County Council.  It’s budget adoption day for the special units; Solid Waste, South West Lake Maxinkuckee Sewer District and the Argos Community Schools.  These budgets will be discusses at 9 a.m.

At 9:15 the regular council meeting is scheduled with Jennifer Laurent from the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation.  She will be seeking a tax abatement for Headsight, Inc.

The County Council will consider additional appropriations for the purchase of a new surveyor’s vehicle and a pick-up truck for the county’s maintenance department.  They also have a transfer to consider from the Sheriff.

Other agenda items include the declaration of County tax rates, approval of the August 13th minutes and the budget hearing minutes for August 27th and 28th.

The County Council will conduct the non-binding reviews of budgets from  the other units in the county about 9:45.

Beginning at 10 a.m. the Council members will consider the 2013 budget requests for the various departments and funds in the county.  There are still some considerations the Council has to consider including the number of vehicles the Sheriff’s Department can purchase next year and the fund or funds they will be coming from.
