09/10/12 This fall, city residents will have the chance to share their skills with a captive audience at the Chamber of Commerce’s first talent show event.

“Back in the day, the Chamber always had a scholarship that we gave to seniors,” said Anna Corbett, vice president of the Chamber of Commerce board.

“We want to bring that scholarship back.”

In order to fund a scholarship — which will be offered to one Plymouth senior each year — the Chamber will hold a talent show November 3 from 6 to 11 p.m. Any person over 21 is welcome to enter, and there is a $10 participation fee.

“It can be any talent, as long as it’s tasteful,” said Corbett.

The show will be held at Christo’s Banquet Center, and there is space for 22 five minute acts. Auditions will be held October 17 and 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce office, 120 N. Michigan St.

“This is something new — hopefully it will go over really well and it can become an annual thing,” said Corbett.

Cost of admission to the show is $25 per person or $40 per couple in advance, and $35 per person, or $50 per couple at the door. Business sponsorships and entire tables are available as well. For more information, contact the Chamber office at 574-936-2323.
