07/19/12 The Marshall County Church Orchestra performed at the Culver Town Park on Sunday, July 8th competing the second of their “Concert in the Park” Series.  TheCulverTownPark located onLakeMaxinkuckee provides a beautiful setting for the family oriented entertainment.  Joining the MCCO as their special guest musicians was the Plymouth Community Youth Orchestra under the direction of Gabriele Hill.

MCCO conductor Don Harness opened the evening with prayer and led the orchestra in several classical numbers and traditional hymns.  The PYCO then took the stage with five challenging numbers.  The two groups joined together on several classical numbers including “Surprise Symphony”, The Barber of Seville”,  The Magic Flute” and “Capriccio Espagnol”.   The MCCO then finished the program with several Broadway and contemporary hits.

During intermission Hill accepted a monetary gift to be used for the PYCO from Harness and the MCCO.  The MCCO will perform their next Concert In the Park series on Sunday, August 12th at 6:00 p.m. at theWalkertonTownPark.  Patrons are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and a picnic supper and enjoy the music in a relaxed setting.
