05/21/12 Miller’s Merry Manor and Miller’s Assisted Living facilities honored their volunteers at a special banquet Wednesday evening, May 16.  The theme for the evening was “Angels Among Us”.  Assisted Living Activity Director Cindy Flagg opened the evening by pointing out the angel decorations and explaining to the honorees they are considered “angels” for the selfless acts of kindness they perform for the residents on a daily basis.

Following a prayer led by volunteer Don Harness the group enjoyed a spaghetti buffet with apple crisp ala mode for dessert.  Flagg and MMM Activity Director April Cooper then introduced each of their volunteers.  They gave a brief explanation of the jobs they perform and a word of appreciation.  Each volunteer was presented with a certificate of appreciation and a small gift bag.

“We appreciate out volunteers,” stated Cooper.  “There is no job too small that they perform!  So many of our volunteers say ‘Oh, I didn’t do anything’, but that simply isn’t true.  Every act of kindness, every job is worthy of our thanks!”

Following the presentation of certificates the group of volunteers gathered for a group photo.  Anyone wishing to volunteer at Miller’s may do so by calling April Cooper at 936-9981 or Cindy Flagg at 936-9801.
