05/09/12 Last year the Arts Council of Marshall County joined the activities at the Yellow River Festival with an art show and sale. Their results were extremely good so they have decided to return again this year on Saturday, June 2nd from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Putting on an art show and sale takes a lot of time and talent according to Ed Pullen, member of the Heartland Artist and the Arts Council. ACMC is currently calling all area artists to join the second annual Yellow River Festival “Arts and Crafts of Old” event.
The one day show and sale is in a large tent off LaPorte Street in the new River Park Square. Participants are encouraged to use their imaginations creating art work including paintings and drawings of river scenes such as the old swimming hole, fishing or landscapes. Other forms of art might include jewelry, blankets, basket weaving, wood carving, culinary works and Native American bead works.
To stay with the theme of the Yellow River Festival and join in the fun participants are encouraged to dress in period costumes.
Booth space is approximately an 8 by 8 for $30 inside the ten and $15 outside the tent. Artist will furnish their own tables, chairs, easels and more.
