04/05/12 The Indiana Manufacturers Association announced Wednesday its endorsement of Francis Ellert for the Republican primary election to the Indiana House of Representatives, District 17. The endorsement was made by the organization’s political program, the Indiana Manufacturers Political Action Committee.
“Francis Ellert is just the type of smart, conservative, pro-economic growth candidate needed at the General Assembly,” said Ed Roberts, vice president of the Indiana Manufacturers Association. “Francis Ellert is a small businessman who understands the issues, and he’ll focus on pro-growth, free enterprise approaches to boost our economy and job creation.”
“I am excited to receive the endorsement of the Indiana Manufacturers Association,” said Ellert. “Growing our economy and creating jobs must be priority-one for our state and that’s a big reason why I am running. Indiana can and should lead the nation in manufacturing.”
The Indiana Manufacturers Association has represented the interests of manufacturers in the state since 1901. Its members employ nearly 500,000 employees in the state.
In addition to the endorsement, the Indiana Manufacturers will be encouraging members and employees in the district to register to vote and support Francis Ellert for the Indiana House.
Ellert is a graduate of John Carroll University and works as plant manager for the Coca-Cola distribution center in Plymouth. Francis and his wife Susan have been married for 18 years and have four children.
House District 17 includes all of Marshall County and northern Fulton County.
