County Police Investigate Alleged Rape

05/01/12 Detectives with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department are investigating an alleged rape that happened this weekend on the west side of the county.

Sunday morning at 6:49 the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a female that had walked to a residence in the area of Rose Road and Mill Pond Trail.  She indicated to the homeowner that she had been assaulted and asked them to call the police.

County Police Officers arrived on the scene and spoke with the victim, a 21 year old female.  It was determined that non-consensual sexual activity had occurred with the offender at a nearby residence.

  Officers located the suspect, 24 year old Wayne M. Davis of Rose Road at a nearby residence and took him into custody, booking him into the Marshall County Jail at 11:35 a.m. Sunday charged with rape with force.  He is being held in the Marshall County Jail with no bond pending formal charges from the prosecutor’s office.

The investigation is still ongoing.
