03/29/12 On Wednesday, March 21st the Plymouth Police Department received a report from Adult Protective Services regarding a disabled female living in the 300 block of North Street in Plymouth. This disabled person was reportedly being neglected by her caregiver, 61 year old Darrel Scheuer. The Plymouth Police Department and Adult Protective Services went to the Scheuer residence on the morning of March 21st and located Darrel Scheuer.  Mr. Scheuer eventually permitted entry to check the welfare of the person in question.  Officers found the victim lying on the floor. It was determined that she needed immediate medical treatment and that she had been on the floor for approximately 30 days. The victim was transported by ambulance to the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth.

After further investigation an arrest warrant was issued for Darrel M. Scheuer on March 27.  He was arrested on the morning of March 28th after resisting Police Officers. He was booked into the Marshall County Jail on the active arrest warrant for neglect of a dependent, a C felony and for and an additional charge of Resisting Law Enforcement. His cash bond was set at $6,500.
