03/20/12 Friday and Saturday night troopers around the state conducted saturation patrols in conjunction with Operation Pull Over Blitz #70 and the St Patrick’s Day Holiday. The patrols concentrated on taking impaired and dangerous drivers off the roadways.
Locally troopers from the Bremen Post issued 153 tickets and 307 warnings over the weekend. They made 34 impaired driving arrests, removed 23 suspended drivers from the roadways and made 44 criminal arrests. Toll Road troopers wrote 420 citations and 951 warnings. They made 27 impaired driving arrests, cited 47 suspended drivers and made 16 criminal arrests. State wide 373 impaired driving arrests were made Friday and Saturday by state police.
The Indiana State Police will continue to conduct saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints to apprehend impaired drivers and to deter others from drinking and driving.
