03/13/12 Marshall County Sheriff Tom Chamberlin recently released the February statistical report for the jail and 9-1-1.

There were 203 jail bookings for the month of February.  The Top 10 offenses booked into the Marshall County Jail were: 10) Cocaine/Meth, 9) Possession of a controlled substance, 8) Theft, 7) Operator never licensed, 6) Probation violation, 5) Driving while suspended, 4) Public intoxication, 3) Marijuana, 2) Failure to appear and the number one cause Operating while intoxicated.

The Argos Police Department made 6 arrests, while Bourbon Police arrested 5 and Bremen officers arrested 15.  The Culver Police Department made 3 arrests in February and Indiana State Police Troopers took 11 to the County jail.  Plymouth Police Officers arrested 45 males and 13 females for a total of 58 and County Police Officers arrested 109 – 83 males and 26 females.  The jail also had 29 court committed inmates.

County Police Officers responded to 63 accidents with 1 being a fatality, 8 involving personal injury and 62 for property damage.  93 case reports were taken and 59 citations were written.  729 Civil process papers were received and 627 were served.

Marshall County answered 1071 9-1-1 calls in the month of February. A total of 681 police related calls, 89 fire responded 9-1-1 calls, 245 EMS responded 9-1-1 calls, and 840 calls were answered for service on non-emergency lines.

During the month of February, Marshall County Deputies self-initiated 1122 calls including traffic stops, assisting motorists, removing debris from roadways and others.
