03/07/12 Chad Dreibelbis, 2011 Campaign Chair, was named “Volunteer of the Year” at the 2012 United Way and Funds Volunteer of the Year Awards Banquet held February 21 at the Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre Hotel, Indiana.

“Chad led the 2011 campaign as the Marshall County campaign chair. In spite of continuing economic uncertainty, Chad and his campaign cabinet raised the bar, increasing the campaign goal to $475,000! Using the theme ‘Each of us helping all of us,”, Chad spent many hours throughout the campaign personally making contacts to attract new employee campaigns and donors and challenging all to respond to the need. He devoted many hours each week throughout the campaign to personally make calls, do presentations and work closely with campaign volunteers and staff. His commitment to United Way was evident in everything he did.” said Linda Yoder, executive director, United Way of Marshall County.

“I’m honored and humbled to receive this award considering there are so many dedicated individuals who spend countless hours working to make a positive impact to our community. Most of us don’t take on the role of volunteer for the sake of receiving recognition. We do it because we believe in the community that has given us so much to be thankful for. We do it for the strong conviction we have to make our home a better place for all of our friends and neighbors. I’d like to thank my United Way campaign team members, board and staff for all of their support. I’d also like to thank all community volunteers for supporting so many worth causes throughout our community,” Community service comes easily to Chad.  In addition to serving on the United Way Board of Directors since 2009, he is actively involved as president of the Sigma Chi Plymouth Alumni Chapter, director of the Plymouth Wrestling Club and Knights of Columbus. He is a member of St. Michael Church and was successful instituting the first ‘Penny War’ at St. Michael School raising a record $1,195.20.

Graduating from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Telecommunications, he has had 15 years’ experience as a quality operations executive. He is currently employed at Biomet, Inc. in Warsaw as Quality Control Manager. He and his wife Jena have two children: daughter, Kendall (12) and son, James (8).

The United Way of Marshall County partners with 15 Member Agencies to provide services for the elderly, youth, those in need, and health services. United Way also supports programs across the county separate from the Member Agencies.
