03/01/12 Quotes were awarded for two vehicles during the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety meeting this week. Country Auto had the low quote of $22,995 for the Building Commissioners vehicle and they also had the lowest quote for a police cruiser. The Dodge Charger was $1,885 lower than the Ford bid. Board members also ratified the low bid of $168,950 for the filter and media replacement project at the Ledyard Water Treatment Plant.
Plymouth’s Street Superintendent Jimmy Marquardt requested permission to seek quotes for a new single axel dump truck with a stainless steel box spreader. He explained that the stainless box holds up better to the normal wear and tear. Marquardt will trade in a ’97 tandem axel truck. The superintendent confirmed that the vehicle is in his 2012 budget. Bids are expected to be opened at the March 12th meeting.
