02/06/12 Miller’s Senior Living Community celebrated Groundhog Day by having a scavenger hunt. This is the third year in a row that residents have been invited to go in search of Marvin and Merry Groundhog. Gladys Umbaugh gave Activity Director Cindy Flagg a statue of two groundhogs. Flagg named them and each year she hides the groundhogs someplace inside the facility. The residents are then told they when they discover where the groundhogs are hiding they receive a prize out of the basket sitting beside the groundhogs. It made for an exciting afternoon of light hearted fun and camaraderie. Just like Punxsutawney Phil, Marvin and Merry saw their shadows on Groundhog Day. The residents will prepare for six more weeks of winter weather!
