12/22/11 The Argos Town Council, during their December 7th meeting, had a discussion on the ordinance for 2012 for Paid Holidays.  Council Member, George Null, voiced his opinion that he would like to see Presidents Day and the employee’s birthday dropped from the list of 11 paid holidays.  “I also think that Veterans Day and Good Friday should not be on the list but President’s Day and the Employee’s Birthday will do for now,” said Null.   The Ordinance for the 2012 Paid Holidays was passed on the first reading 4-1 with Null as the opposing vote.

The Council approved for the purchase of a pickup truck for the Police Department.  There had been discussions in past meetings over the pros and cons of a pickup truck verses automobile.  Police Chief, Rod Rudd, was told he could order the 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4×4 from Country Auto in Plymouth.  The purchase price with trade in is $20,562.   The cost to equip the truck for police use will come from the Police Fund.
