10/18/11 The Indiana State Police will be giving the online community an inside look at the current ISP Academy Class for the first time as they progress through training. The Indiana State Police plans to post weekly behind-the-scenes photos of the cadets during their 24-week paramilitary training. The 71st Recruit School began in earnest on Sunday, October 2, 2011. The class is scheduled to graduate March 16, 2011. These new cadets will help fill vacant trooper positions statewide and will receive extensive training in firearms, traffic and criminal laws, self-defense, human relations, crash investigation, criminal investigations, crime scene processing, traffic direction, alcohol detection and apprehension. Training is conducted primarily at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield by highly trained instructors from the Indiana State Police.
