10/07/11 The public is invited to a Harvest Homecoming at Summit Chapel School at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2011.

Local recording artist and country music performer Autumn Leed, will headline the event which is hosted by Wythougan Valley Preservation Council.  WVPC oversaw restoration and preservation of the 1865 building which is now on the National Register of Historic Places along with the adjacent cemetery.

All surviving former students and their families, as well as neighbors and friends are invited to reminisce about the area.

Teressa Welborn will explain the symbolism carved into some of the grave markers.

Summit Chapel School, located on SR 10 east of SR 331, was closed as a school in 1928 but continued to be used as a community room for many years.

Cider and donuts will be served.

While there is no admission charge, donations are always welcome.
