09/16/11 The Niles Haunted House Scream Park once again is ready to officially start autumn by “Scaring the Yell out of you” with six different haunted attractions. This year marks the 32nd consecutive year of their annual fright festival. They will open their squeaky gates on Friday and Saturday, September 16th and 17th. The event also will be open on Friday, September 23th and Saturday, September 24th. Beginning in October, the days of operation are all weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and Thursday through Monday the week of Halloween.

They have carried on the tradition of rebuilding the passageways and rooms of the 2011 Niles Haunted House with new themes and scares. In addition to supernatural phenomenon, this year you will experience sights and sounds that will leave you gasping for air. With more than 100 possible routes through the main house, there is no telling where you might find yourself. You could end up in Scarry Potterville, Crystal Lake, the Exorcist bedroom or in a scene from Scream 4.

This year the House on the Hill offers two all new attractions: “CarnEvil” and “Underworld Unleashed.” “CarnEvil” will offer all new meaning to those who are coulorophobic. Patrons will be amazed at the detailed sets in “Underworld Unleashed” – a truly unique type of haunted attraction for this area.

The Field of Screams offers a completely revamped outdoor dark maze with five new areas along with “claustrophobia,” “camophobia,” “the birch tree forest,” “the white curtain maze” and “The Bridge.” The Dark TERRORtory Haunted Hayride will continue to amaze and amuse the Park’s thousands of visitors. One of its newest creatures surely will “heat things up!!”

On select nights, patrons also will be able to experience “Zendor Presents: The Puppet Master” where you will have to wonder are they puppets or are they real??

An improved “Midway of the Macabre” once again will feature old favorites like “Fry Freddy” and the “X-terminator.” This year also will see the return of “The Executioner” where you are the next victim!! The midway also features several food concessions that provide enough variety to satisfy everyone’s cravings.

The Niles Haunted House is a non-profit community project that utilizes approximately 150-200 volunteers per night to staff its various attractions. These volunteers represent over 75 Michiana area community and school organizations. Last year participating organizations received donations totaling more than $75,000! In addition, the Niles Haunted House funded three college scholarships at Niles High School and one at Brandywine High School.
