08/18/11 Marshall County Police investigated a single vehicle accident Saturday.
On Saturday, August 13th at 7:34 pm, County Officer Matt Brown received a call in reference to an accident that had occurred on Michigan Road near 4A Road. The driver, Kari Andert 20, of Lakeville was traveling south in her 1994 Toyota Camry on Michigan Road and did not see a vehicle that was stopped to make a turn. Andert stated that she swerved at the last minute to avoid rear ending the vehicle and at that time she entered the northbound lane and struck a 2007 Saab Aero driven by Shane Smith 17, of Knox head on.
A witness stated that he noticed a white vehicle traveling behind him when it suddenly swerved into the northbound lane to avoid hitting him and struck a vehicle head on. There were only minor injuries reported at the accident.
