02/09/11 The Wythougan Toastmasters club held the first part of the annual competition for the International Speech Contest on Friday, February 4th. Toastmaster member Charlie Houin was recognized with second place to the first place award recipient, Marianne Peters. Both members will proceed to the next level of the competition, the Area International Contest.

Friday, February 11 at 6:45 a.m., Mark Senter will present a target speech for five to seven minutes. Select members will participate in the first round of the Club Evaluation Contest. Evaluators will then be judged and winners will proceed to the next level of the competition, Area Evaluation Contest. 

Both Area International Contest and the Area Evaluation Contest will take place on Saturday, March 5th at The Midas Center, 200 N. Michigan Street, downtown Plymouth. Participants from Toastmasters clubs from South Bend, Valparaiso and Warsaw will compete.  Registration for contestants begins at 9. Contests begin at 9:30 a.m. The public is welcome to attend.
