10/01/10 The Hospice Foundation is excited to announce that the 2010 Walk for Hospice will take place on Sunday, October 10 at Newton Park in Lakeville, IN. Hundreds of walkers and volunteers are expected to gather to participate in this 25th Anniversary Walk for Hospice, which benefits the Center for Hospice Care.

“This special day of celebration and fundraising includes family-friendly entertainment, a large children’s playground, random prize drawings, complimentary snacks and water along the route and finish line fun complete with free popcorn,” expressed walk coordinator, Debra Mayfield.

Mayfield, Development Assistant for The Hospice Foundation, has been instrumental in coordinating the annual Walk since 2004. “It’s all about our volunteers working together to make this happen,” she noted. “It’s wonderful to see so many community partners turn out for such a great cause.”

• 11:30 a.m. Check-in and registration at Newton Park in Lakeville, IN
• 12:30 p.m. Memorial Celebration
• 1 – 3:30 p.m. Walk
• 11:30 – 3:30 p.m. ongoing activities
• Free Walk t-shirts for those raising $35 or more
