12/21/1- The last meeting of 2010 for the Argos Town Council was a short one last Wednesday night. The winners for the holiday decoration contest were announced. Winning third place and $50 is Chris Brown on West Marshall Street. Second place winner, with a $100 award, is Jim Hutchinson on North Street. The first place winner and $200 is the Paul and Suzanne Sterns residents on Albert Street.
The Council elected the officers for 2011. Dave Walker will replace George Null as President and George will replace Dave as the Vice President. “I have been President for the last four years and I felt that some else should have the opportunity to learn the extra duties that involves being President.” George Null told the Council.
The Council was told the plow blade on a pickup was broken. This blade is over 11 years old and has been repaired several times and now they could not find parts for it. A bid of $5,100 for a new V plow blade was received. This is including the trade-in of the old blade. The pick-up trucks with blades are great for clearing the parking lots and the intersections of the narrow streets in Argos. The Council voted to purchase the new blade.
