01/24/12 Plymouth Street Department employees spent many hours during the weekend to clear the five inches or more of snow that hit the city. According to Superintendent Jim Marquardt, crews worked until midnight on Friday night and started again at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday. Marquardt said, “By 3:30 p.m., we had been all over the town.” By 5:00 p.m., several workers manning snow plow trucks then began clearing the city’s parking lots.

Marquardt spent a few hours on Sunday afternoon plowing parking spaces along the main streets to prepare for Monday morning business.

Crews were scheduled at 5:00 a.m. on Monday to begin clearing the snow piled at corners.

Marquardt said the business owners are responsible for removing snow from the sidewalks front of their businesses.
