The City Board of Public Works and Safety and Common Council will meet tonight at 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the second-floor Council Chambers of City Hall.
The Board of Public Works and Safety will hear from various department heads, the city attorney, and Clerk-Treasurer who will present three requests. Cars & Coffee will seek the closure of Beerenbrook Street near the bowling alley for several Saturday morning car shows during the season. The Daughters of the American Revolution will seek approval to place veterans’ banners on the light poles in the downtown area for the second year and Heartland Artists Gallery will ask to close Michigan Street in the downtown area for the Arts in the Street event.
The Common Council meets at 6:30 and will conduct two public hearings for Tax Abatement from Plymouth Hospitality LLC and AK Industries/S&S Properties.
The city council will consider the ordinance to re-establish the Cumulative Capital Development Fund and the acceptance of Compliance Forms from Pretzels Inc., AK Industries, and Riverside Commons Apartments for their Tax Abatements.
The council will consider three resolutions, one for a Commercial Revitalization Rebate Program Grant for George Schricker, and the second and third are for the tax abatement requests of Plymouth Hospitality and AK Industries.
John Cannon will introduce information from the Indiana Attorney General’s Office and the city attorney will give an update on the Stellar Communities Projects.
The city meetings are open to the public although comments and questions are limited to agenda items only. Those attending the meeting should enter through the Garro Street entrance and move to the second floor.
