On Monday the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety and the Plymouth Common Council conducted their first meetings of the new year.  One item both boards must due annually is setting the meeting dates and times for the new year.

The Board of Public Works and the Council both decided to stay with their meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.  The Board of Public Works meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and the Council meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. or after the Board of Public Works and Safety if that meeting goes past 6:30.

Due to Christmas being on Monday this year, both boards agreed to move their meetings to Wednesday, December 27th at 6 P.M. and 6:30 p.m. respectively.

The Council meeting lasted a whole three minutes.  Besides setting the meeting dates and times the Council received a brief update on the city’s Stellar Projects.  City Attorney Sean Surrisi said they have just the process to initiate the OCRA Grant closeout for the REES Theatre project.  Shannon Cloud, the grant administrator is doing the work.  It should be complete in the next month or so.  There are a couple of projects still ongoing.  Work is wrapping up for River Park Square phase II and engineering continues for Greenway Trail phase III.
