State Representative Jake Teshka (R-South Bend) wants to recognize those in House District 7 who have a heart of a Hoosier, and is seeking nominations for his recently launched award.
According to Teshka, his Heart of a Hoosier Award will be presented to outstanding individuals and local businesses that exemplify kindness, courage, thoughtfulness and transformative involvement in House District 7 – which includes portions of LaPorte, Marshall and St. Joseph counties. He urges residents to nominate people from the district with sound character, and who go above and beyond to help others.
“Our communities are home to so many great Hoosiers who deserve to be recognized for the positive impact they have on others,” Teshka said. “That’s why I encourage constituents to nominate those silent heroes from House District 7 for this award.”
To nominate someone for Teshka’s Heart of a Hoosier Award, visit in.gov/h7 and click the “Nominate” tab and fill out the form. Nominees must be residents of House District 7. To verify if someone lives in House District 7, visit iga.in.gov and click on “Find Your Legislator.” Recipients will be given an award certificate during a special presentation and spotlighted in Teshka’s email newsletter sent to constituents across the district.
