Marshall County Purdue Extension Office is hosting a meeting at the Gallery on West located on the Marshall County Fairgrounds in Argos.  This is an evening meeting on Thursday, December 1st, and will start at 6:30 pm with registration and program starting at 7:00 pm. Please enter the parking lot from West Street to access the facility.

Darcey Telenko, Extension Field Crop Pathologist, will join the meeting through Zoom due to her busy schedule, doing a presentation in Iowa on the same day.  Though disease pressure was low in 2022, what can growers anticipate for the 2023 growing season? Will Tar Spot continue to be a concern for area corn growers?  She will answer these questions and share updates on diseases like Tar Spot.  It was low in our region though still a problem in areas of the Midwest in 2022.

Robert Yoder, Extension Educator ANR Marshall County, will provide a presentation developed by Bill Johnson, Purdue Weed Specialists, on managing the top ten problem weeds for Indiana farmers.  Robert will also discuss drift.  Samples sent to Purdue Pest and Plant Diagnostic Lab were significantly up in 2022.

If you want to receive credit as a PARP meeting, please bring your pesticide license or pesticide license number.  There is no cost for PARP, it is being sponsored by the Indiana Corn Marketing Council and Indiana Soybean Alliance. There will be credit hours for Commercial Applicators Cat 1, RT, and Certified Crop Consultants.  If you are planning on attending, please call Marshall County Extension Office by Monday, December 6, or e-mail ryoder@purdue.edu. You can call 574-935-8545 with questions or to RSVP for the program.
