The City of Plymouth has been working on the Hoham Drive reconfiguration between North Michigan Street and just to the west of Western Avenue since 2016.

The project will widen Hoham Drive and add a turn lane between Michigan Street and just west of Western Avenue.  The original engineer’s estimate was $2,404,087.  The adjusted estimate just before the bid letting last week was $2,694,261.

Lots of work has been done prior to construction including the relocation of utilities.

Last week INDOT conducted a bid letting for the project and Milestone was the low bidder at $2,546,956.

City Attorney Sean Surrisi said the funding commitments from INDOT were based on the original numbers so the project is currently $212,819 over budget. He said the city will have to ask INDOT to see if they can or will provide the 80/20 funding for that additional cost.
