Labor Day weekend in Marshall County means the Blueberry Festival. This year celebrating the 56th year is another year of fantastic FREE entertainment.
With three stages around Centennial Park, festival-goers are bound to find something they like.
The Jefferson School Stage will host the opening ceremony on Friday at noon and then the Marshall County Church Orchestra at 6 and a Talent Competition at 7:30. On Saturday the Lincoln Legends start of the entertainment at 11 followed by John Dudley, The Spaniels, Silly Safari, Quentin Flagg, the Triton Jazz Band and 4 Play. Sunday features the Crimson Connection, Dudley again, Blackwood Quartet, John Bahler and Scott Greeson & Trouble with Mondays. Labor Day starts with John Dudley, then the parade result at 1 p.m. followed by Sentimental Journey and Quentin Flagg.
The Michigan Street Stage has the Little Miss & Mister Blueberry competition Friday at 5:30 and The Dolls at 7. Saturday starts with Silly Safari at noon with Treated & Released, Katie Brooks & Jim Worthings at 4. Dark Ridge Rambler performs at 6 and the festival headliner Brandt Carmichael takes the stage at 8. Sunday Expression Dance Studio starts the day at noon. You’ll hear the Great Lakes Sound Chorus at 1:30 followed by Katie Brooks, Cool City Band and The Moon Cats. On Labor Day Katie Brooks takes the stage for a second show at 12:30. The Suzuki Music School of Michiana preforms at 1:30 followed by Dixie Melody Boys and Night Shift at 4:30.
The Young Amphitheater stage features Latino music on Saturday with Manny Cortez and Los Ortega from 1 p.m. till 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday it’s Gospel music. Sunday at 1 the Dark Ridge Ramblers. Jim Worthing starts at 2:45 followed by The Down East Boys and Quentin Flagg rounding out the day. On Labor Day it is Charbria Shine, Soulfyre Reborn, Reclaim the Day and Jacob’s Well.
