The Marshall County Council will have a full day on Monday with their regular meeting and their first review of the 2023 Budget.

During their regular meeting, the council will hear a request from Marianne Peters from Solid Waste will ask for approval of an additional appropriation and Sandy Garrison from the Museum will present her quarterly report.  Sheriff Matt Hassel will present the biannual commissary report and Marty Oosterbaan from the Marshall County Crossroads Ream will present a request for READI grant matching funds, $750,000 for the Simulation and Skills Lab to support the Bachelor of Nursing degree at Marian University at Ancilla College, $525,000 for the Blue Zones Initiative and $1.5 million for the Career Innovation Center.  The total match requested was $2,175,000. 

The County Council will consider additional appropriation and transfer requests, an amendment to the 2022 Salary Ordinance, a discussion on the Homestead Dairy Abatement, and approval of the 2023 meeting calendar.   

Following the regular portion of the meeting, the County Council will begin working on the 2023 budget. Various department heads will be on hand to discuss their financial requests for next year.
