Heat Advisory In Effect From 1PM this afternoon until 10PM tonight. Marshall County is in the “Slight” Risk Category (2 out of 5) for the potential for severe weather tonight. Those storms could produce strong gusty winds and heavy rain, and hail up to one inch in diameter.

There will be two potential hazards for our area today. The first will be heat indices approaching the century mark this afternoon. It will be very important to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activity to lower the risk of heat stroke or heat exhaustion. Never leave children or pets in a car in these temperatures. The second hazard is the potential for severe storms late this afternoon and evening. Heavy rain/flooding and damaging winds are possible but there is still some uncertainty on the exact timing and severity.
