U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) released the following statement on the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization:

“Our prayers have been answered. By rightfully restoring power to the states, the Supreme Court has affirmed the inalienable right to life. As our mission moves to the states, we will not grow weary in doing good. Our commitment to life will march on. As one of the most pro-life states in the nation, Indiana will lead the way in defending the vulnerable, uplifting women and families, and ensuring every child has the chance to achieve the American Dream. Our enduring commitment to life will prevail.”

BACKGROUND

A pro-life leader in Congress, Rep. Walorski has devoted years of work to defending the sanctity of life. Throughout her tenure, Rep. Walorski has voted to protect life, reject taxpayer-funded abortion services, safeguard Americans’ conscience protections, and equip working families to thrive.

As the top Republican on the House Ways and Means Worker and Family Support Subcommittee, Rep. Walorski is leading Congress’ work to advance pro-family priorities, such as expanded access to child care and paid leave for working families.

In the 117th Congress, Rep. Walorski has co-sponsored important pro-life legislation, including the Dignity for Aborted Children Act, the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, the Abortion Providers Loan Elimination Act, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2021, and the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act.

Additionally, she has consistently opposed the Democrats’ exclusion of the Hyde Amendment and pro-life protections in spending bills. Congresswoman Walorski also strongly rejected H.R. 3755, the Democrats’ radical “abortion on demand” bill that would override pro-life laws around the country.

Walorski represents the 2nd Congressional District of Indiana, serving as a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and the Ranking Member of the House Ethics Committee.
