County Councilman Harman Asks Commissioners for “Most or All” of ARPA Funds for Roads

During the Public Comment portion of the May 16^th meeting of the Marshall Commissioners, County Councilman Tim Harman said he realizes that the Council doesn’t have as much input into the ARPA funding as the Commissioners do but that it does need to be a collaborative effort. 

Harman said, “I would request that we put more money into the roads than what was initially described in the general blueprint.  I think it should be most if not all.”

Harman said the ARPA funds have to be obligated by the end of 2024 which is two and a half years. He went on to say the county has 4 and a half years to spend the obligated funds.  He asked the commissioners to consider his request, noting that there is plenty of time and he hopes they will work with the council on the use of the ARPA funds.
