The Bourbon Police Department is warning businesses to keep an eye out for “prop” money.

Chief Bill Martin said they have recently discovered two $100 bills that have been spent at local businesses. Both incidents have been resolved. Per Indiana Code 35-43-5-2 passing false money can be charged as a Level 6 Felony.

This prop money has some distinguishing features. On the front side of the bill near the bottom left-hand side, you can find “COPY” in blue font. “FOR MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY” can also be found on the front. On the rear side “IN PROPS WE TRUST” replaces the original “IN GOD WE TRUST”.
