LAKEVILLE – LaVille High School hosted the first Lancer Relays in 10 years and the Lancers came out victorious in Monday night’s invitational against HNAC foes Caston and Culver and local rival John Glenn. LV started the invite strong winning all but the high jump in field events. The pole vault team of Lincoln Hulsey and Matt Schaefer won the contest with a new meet record. Their combined height of 25-6 beat the previous 2001 record held by Fairfield. John Glenn’s 2004 discus record was broken by the trio of Michael Good, AJ Bedock, and Erik Bedock with the combined throw of 396-5. After field events, the Lancers traded blows with John Glenn winning nearly every other event to squeak out the win in the end. The Lancers will travel to Walkerton to take part in the Dennis Rippy Invitational Friday. Field events are slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.
