Plymouth City Attorney Sean Surrisi updated members of the Plymouth Park Board on a couple of projects.

River Park Square phase II is still waiting on a construction schedule.  The same company is renovating the LaPorte Street Historic Foot Bridge.  They are expected to begin that project in the next 2 to 3 weeks and the River Park Square project will begin a couple of weeks after that.

Surrisi said they finalized the contract with Troyer Group to design phase III of the Greenways Trail and it has been approved by INDOT.  The project is now in the INDOT process to get it into their budget before the end of the fiscal year in June. Once completed the city will get the notice to proceed with the preliminary engineering.

Superintendent Mike Hite attended the park board meeting after being ill for the past few months.  He said his staff has worked on the summer hiring process which includes lifeguards, camp counselors, and maintenance help.

The park board approved a request for a family pool pass for the Jogging for Jefferson PTO Fundraiser.  The proceeds are for new playground equipment at the school.

It was also noted that the Hoosier Old Wheels playground upgrade and trail project is moving along.  There are some shipping concerns with the playground equipment.  They won’t remove the old playground equipment until the new equipment arrives.   The focus will be on the trail first.
